Magnetic Particle Testing (Visible & Fluorescent)
Magnetic Particle Testing is a method used to detect surface and sub-surface defects in Ferro magnetic steel. Testing is carried out by inducing a magnetic flux into the test area and dusting or spraying iron particles onto the surface. These iron particles are either dry or suspended in liquid. Surface imperfections will interrupt the magnetic field and cause the iron particles to gravitate in and around the imperfection/defect detected in the surface or subsurface region of the item being tested.
